Play worker

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and experience working with children aged 4-11.

Your role involves collecting children from the adjacent Primary School, providing snacks, and planning activities based on the children’s interests.

 

In the holidays, you will plan fun outings, engage in activities and ensure a fun and safe environment.

We need a team player. A person who is a creative thinker, and happy to get stuck in with different activities and messy play.

As a Play Worker, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children to play and learn. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a passion for childcare and enjoy working with children.

HOURS

You would be working from Monday to Friday, 1.30pm-5.30pm during term time and around 30hrs during school holidays.

DUTIES
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues

  • Collecting children from adjacent school

  • Manage and supervise children

  • Plan and organise age-appropriate games, crafts, and educational activities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care

  • Assist with meal times and promote healthy eating habits

  • Maintain a clean and organised play area

  • Provide support and guidance to children as needed

EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience working in childcare or a similar role is preferred

  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage groups of children

  • Familiarity with nursery rhymes, songs, and storytelling techniques

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

  • Experience working with children of various ages

Nursery Practitioner

We are looking for a Nursery Practitioner with a level two or three qualification to work across the setting and join our team. A sound knowledge of child development and a proven track record in supporting children to develop and progress is desirable. We require the applicant to be highly professional and easily adaptable.

 

They must be able to provide the children with a safe, secure, stimulating and caring environment and be used to working in a fast paced Nursery.

The successful applicant must have a good working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance and Development Matters. They will ensure all children’s individual needs are met and all areas of development are encouraged through play.

HOURS

This role is a permanent position, working between 8.00- 5.30 Monday to Friday.
